Seriously

Do you have a kiddo who thinks certain "noises" are hilarious? A spouse who'd rather die than get dressed up? A family who laughs off most anything that comes your way?

Let's capture that uniqueness and fun in your next portrait session... seriously!

Preserving Memories

They're baaack... You may remember friends Olivia and Jenna from previous blogs. These BFF's were in this winter for their fabulous five-year-old photo session. Well, since then, Olivia's mom, Lorna, has been hard at work preserving this special time in her daughter's life by having us design Comp Cards and this wonderful "Fun To Be Five Book"! I thought it was such a great idea, I had to post a few pages!

This is such a neat way to preserve special memories like weddings, senior portraits, your vacation in Maine or a milestone birthday (like 5). I like how it's different than framing because it's very portable, similar to scrapbooking, but less work for you and just more personal than sticking photos in an album.

So, make a list of your favorite images from your recent session and we'll take it from there!

Kaleidokitties

It's always fun when Sue Rioux stops by the studio to have me photograph some of her recent works of art, but today, Sue brought a couple new friends along...Kaleidoscopes that look like kitties for even more fun!

Always creative, Sue hand sculpted and painted these kitties then added the three internal mirrors and the rotating fishies that really punch up the color when you twirl them and look inside. I just love their realistic looking glass eyes too!

I've also included a photo from today of some of Sue's more "traditional," hot-selling, kaleidoscopes to show you what else she's been busy working on!

So very talented...

Happy Father's Day!

My daughter, Katie suggested that we take a picture of her with her new haircut for Daddy for Father's Day. I always love it when going down to the studio is her idea... They always turn out better that way! I think Tom will agree.

Happy Father's Day!

a simple smile...

Every once in a while, I capture an image that makes my heart sing, one that just really makes me feel like what I do is important. It's why I do what I do. This is one of those images!

Father's Day, 2008 will be the first that Tony spends with his new son. At six-months old, Nicholas can't wish his dad a happy Father's Day, or tell him that his Cowardly Lion impression is right on, or buy him a tie, or even simply say, "I love you". But Tony knows he's loved, because the expression on his son's face tells him so. There's just no faking a look like this, it so pure and real.

Whether the dad in your life is celebrating his first or his fiftieth Father's Day, be sure to let him know how important he is to you... a simple smile will do it.

Melissa-Jo and Rob

Engagement sessions are great way for a photographer and a bride and groom to get to know each other. I'm so glad that Melissa-Jo and Rob took time out from their busy wedding planning schedule to spend a little time at Fort Williams with me this weekend.

Though I had already met Melissa-Jo at our wedding consultation, and knew how charming she was, it was fun to see her light up when she was with Rob. What a beautiful and infectious smile she has! Rob too has a smile fit for a toothpaste ad, but his sarcastic sense of humor is what really caught Melissa-Jo's eye!

I had such a blast photographing this cute couple and enjoyed the personal tour that Melissa-Jo gave me of her favorite spot. I'm so looking forward to seeing even more smiles from these two when I photograph their special day in October.

Five and Fabulous

Miss Rachel has been coming to the studio for a few years now, but today was different, today, she was FIVE!

Rachel's mom and I had been e-mailing this week about today's photo session. It seems like in years past, Rachel gravitated towards the big bucket of flowers I have in the studio, then that would be it! Every image would HAVE to have a flower in it! Though those images were precious, we wanted to show how grown-up Rachel is getting now that she's a year older and a big sister too.

With Rachel "warned" that there would be no flowers this year, I treated her like a "big girl" and brought out the fan and new backgrounds. She's such a natural! It's so fun to see her growing up!

I must admit though, the last couple of shots had flowers in them...I'm a sucker for this fabulous five-year-old!

Father's Day is June 15th, but it's not too late to get Dad that portrait of the kiddos that he's been hinting about for his desk, or a gift certificate for a family portrait you can use this summer!

Life Is Full of Gifts

I must say, I'm loving posting these blogs every couple of days. It's fun to try to think of new topics, great to get to share some recent images and awesome to hear people saying, "I read your blog!"

As a small "gift" for those of you who check in on a regular basis, I thought I'd post a give-away every once-in-a-while, and today is the first! So, if you're reading this, be the first to send me an e-mail at denisedupuis@verizon.net and you'll win a $25 gift certificate to Denise Dupuis Photography to use towards... anything! (I'll post an update on the blog when I have a winner!)

Unlike fancy-schmancy radio contests or Publisher's Clearinghouse, you CAN be a friend, relative or long-lost cousin and still win. I just want to see who's reading!

So, be on the lookout for more giveaways (about once a month) and thanks so much for reading the blog!

I HAVE A WINNER... Congratulations, Christie!!!

Christie and Bill

Every wedding is different. That's what makes them so fun to capture!

In Christie and Bill's case, the thing that really stood out for me was the people. From the bride to the flower girl, Isabelle to the guests, everyone was so nice, fun and genuinely thrilled for the happy couple.

The day flew by so quickly! Everyone danced until they kicked us out! I'm glad they'll have some special images to help them to remember their unique day.
